Day three of my three days of day hikes, was wonderful. I spent the preceding night at Heart O' the Hills campground, just inside the Olympic National Park. Getting to the trailhead would take a little time, but I woke before dawn, so I would still get an early start. I quickly ate some breakfast and threw my stuff into the car.

Puget Sound had a low overcast. I was below the cloud deck at the campground, but climbed through the thin layer as I drove up the road to Hurricane Ridge. The sunrise was amazing and I had to stop a couple of times to take some photos, as did a few other drivers.
